Nope just realistic.
Can anyone tell me any examples of when strike action stopped a change the company wanted?
Don't mistake the lack of response for confirmation that you are right.2yearpostie wrote: ↑01 Aug 2022, 15:04Can anyone tell me any examples of when strike action stopped a change the company wanted?

Sometimes when your child asks a particularly stupid question all you can do is roll your eyes and hope they learn a trade.
My rep has given fantastic speeches at 3 gate meetings and at each one has made it clear, in no uncertain terms, how the introduction of inferior terms for new starters will ultimately undermine the effectiveness of the union's bargaining position in the years ahead. We are very lucky to have a superb rep in our unit.Kenfandango wrote: ↑01 Aug 2022, 16:19
Obviously I get why it exists, and what they do, but it's very telling that when our union rep gave his "vote yes" Braveheart speech last week there was no mention of the proposed changes to new starters contracts. Hopefully the CWU is fighting them as the worse a deal a newbie is offered the weaker they look and the less people will join

Unions have as much power as we're willing to give them.unions have little power these days
