Dr Shaun Davis
The safety, health and wellbeing of our people is our number one priority and it is important that we get things right going forward.
Discussions with our union colleagues are still being finalised today, so it is unlikely that I can provide you with an update today.
Our position regarding shared vans, face coverings and social distancing remains unchanged and we will ensure that you have sufficient time to prepare for any changes being made.
I will provide you with an update as soon as I can and thank you again for your continued patience.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Its the cost of the hire vans which they will want to cut RIGHT away. Double jabbed people not needing to isolate is on the cards. Registered mail now back to 1pm (why cant it be 2pm). Ofcom itching to impose fines and the list goes on and on. Cannon fodder springs to mind.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Unchanged? Why was I on the sorting today standing next to 2 people either side of me less than a meter apart & numerous people clearing down without masks? 4 Cases in office. All allowed, according to the managers.......POSTMAN wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 18:49Dr Shaun Davis

Even some of our van shares use them to drop stuff off that's later picked up to extend a loop while the driver does parcels. We've been doing van shares since 2010.Chelseablue wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 21:15Bring back the grey boxes on the street , single deliveries again !

I believe there is now agreement between RM & CWU & a joint statement will be put out early tomorrow.
They did say it would be agreed by lunchtime today so who knows really??
I believe the agreed Covid Policies that are in place are all up for discussion and will be interested to see what RM’s position of isolating is going forward, especially after August 16th when you dont have to isolate if you had two jabs.

If my office goes back to shared now it's going to be a disaster. We already have 5 to 10 rounds down each day, with the odd day being 0 or 15, it's mad. No new starters on the cards either. They were only going hard on budget cuts a few weeks ago, and yet now asking people to work their time off again, clueless.
Shared van is cheaper overheads, but everything else suffers. At this current time our office don't have the time to readjust and learn buddy rounds with everyone getting moved around every day. Takes longer to deliver, and with constant 2 days work just compounds the issue. I for one will be working less and putting in less effort if van shares come back now. It's also too hot to be messing about right now and tempers will be short.
