Inter. Tracked & Signed Parcel to Central Asia Stuck, any ideas?

Post by Boomermail »

Last update was: “We have received your item at LANGLEY HWDC, our international processing centre. Your item is being prepared for despatch overseas.“

The tracking hasn’t changed for around 6 days now. Since 24th of Oct.

International tracked & signed parcel sent from London to Central Asia.

Contents: limited edition comic book

Any of you kind gentlemen know what’s up? Is this delay usual? Is the item seized? :cry

It hasn't been seized. That only happens at customs, and it will only go through customs when it reaches the destination country.

Beyond that, it is hard to say without knowing what the destination country is.

It's Kazakhstan which as far as I know had no incoming/out-coming post interruptions.

You are correct that there are no service interruptions, according to the RM Bulletin at least.

As with most former Soviet countries (and some others), Kazakhstan has prohibitions on printed matter. The rule is fairly broad. I can’t say that the comic book is banned, it depends on the content. However, it is likely that Royal Mail have stopped it while they check if it is allowed into Kazakhstan. For more information, see:

Really really appreciate your time here. I didn't know printed matter was in the list of potentially prohibited items. Can it be a simple delay or is the location at which it is stuck makes it less likely to be such?

It is a gift to someone I care about so if it gets opened and resealed it will ruin the whole presentation, I'm OCD about presentation :arrrghhh

It could just be a simple delay. It could also be that RM have stopped it to examine the contents further, but will release it for onward transit after a week or two: this happens frequently with watches, to pick the most obvious example.

If RM decide that the item is not allowed in Kazakhstan they will return it to the sender.

Thanks, just got an update in my tracking an hour ago, but it's strange, it's exactly the same message as the last update: “We have received your item at LANGLEY HWDC, our international processing centre. Your item is being prepared for despatch overseas.“

I never had that happen before, any thoughts?
