counterfeit frank mark?
been searching Royal mail website to no avail. Phoned the franking separtment who were less than interested and promised to call me back (and never did) so am asking on here. I got a package today with a suspicious frank mark which I suspect might be counterfeit. The RM website has nowhere I can put in the franking die number to see where it came from. So, how do I find out whether this is a counterfeit mark or does RM refuse to divulge whether they can be forged or just want to bury it's head not acknowledge counterfeit marks, and keep raising the cost of a postage stamp in order to plug the loss of revenue from scammers?

I'm not sure whether it's something that IB (the investigation people who catch dishonest posties etc) would be interested in?

Revenue Protection would be your best bet.
Quite a secretive bunch though.
Every area has their own Revenue Protection team usually based at the local MC or RDC.

Ah ha! I forgot about RP... Yeah, they might be interested seeing as they deal with all the surcharges and counterfeit stamps on things. They're not a customer facing department though so customer services would probably still have to be the ones to put it through to themfishtank wrote:Revenue Protection would be your best bet.

Try @RoyalMail on Twitter with a pic, they would probably pass it on if they think it's dodgy.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Is it possible to scan it and post it on here - we could then give you an opinion on if its fake or not.fenny wrote:I got a package today with a suspicious frank mark which I suspect might be counterfeit. The RM website has nowhere I can put in the franking die number to see where it came from.
