The reason for the later starts was that Royal Mail ceased to use planes to carry mail which means that it arrivals later to the inward mail centre.

Royal Mail would love a 9-5 model for parcels but the union has stopped this now on four occasions dating back to 2017.
You’ve stopped nothing. We are going to be 8.40 to 17.10
For normal duties or just DPR's? Roughly where are you based in the UK?

Normal duties. We have been starting at 8.40 to 16.35 on latest day for over 3 years already. The 2 into 5 will make our days longer again but it won’t be possible to start earlier, therefore taking us past 5pm. Northern Ireland.

We have an official finish time for FT'ers of 1700. But the way they get round it is by saying FT'ers only take 20 mins break so can take 20 mins at the end, so that makes it 1640, then you've got 10 mins to square your crap away so that makes your theoretical arrival time at the office of 1630. Then 10 mins travel back from last drop, so that makes your last letter 1620.....

From what I've seen communication around PT contracts has been scarce to zero. There may be opportunity for some PT to increase hours or go FT. Lots will remain on PT 30 hours, those I would think would still just do 6 hours ish a day. If it becomes much less than 6 then the effectiveness of the shift is too reduced, especially with more work to do and less staff in the building.

Surely their duty span would have to increase as well to make up for the extra days off.
But I could be wrong
