A lot of people are struggling with democracy, i voted NO, but the vote went yes, that's democracy for you.
I can live with the result and i suggest the rest of you do too, it ain't gonna change and all you are doing is stressing yourself.
After all this Lou, Aiden and Jabba the hutt also have to learn that goading people and using the result as part of their ammo is actually a pretty cheap shot and not really helping.
We need a moment of calm where the workforce stop fighting with itself and RM stop winding people up, but the chances of that are slim.
The union have been poor through the end of this dispute, perhaps they could get RM to take a few weeks off with their agenda to let the workers breath and digest what's happened.
And we are all entitled to the lump sum and payrise and we may dispose of it how we see fit, not how some of you think we should use it.

I think the CWU should make every effort to persuade Royal Mail to try and find a way to Fast Track the Lump Sum Payments of £500 + £900 respectively, for our long suffering postal workers and their dependents.

As per usual the wording in the letter is confusing. It says to qualify for ALL payments you must still be employed by the company on 4th August. It then says the exact amount for the £900 lump will be determined by how many people still work for the company on the actual date it’s paid, implying if you leave after 4th August but before 29th September you won’t get it. Poor wording as usual
They probably mean the exact amount will be worked out by how many people work in the company divided into how much money is in the pot.
Depends how many leave in the meantime or start i guess. Maybe more, maybe less who knows but i guess less.
I’m retiring around 1st September so it’s not clear to me whether I’ll get both lump sums, just the 500, or neither.

We are focusing on delivering the 6% pay rise and backdated amount first and we hope to do this in two weeks rather than broadly six weeks it has historically taken. We will then turn our efforts to delivering the lump sum payments.

My only worry would be wanting to make sure RM HR have still got your bank details on record to make the payment after you're 'off the books'.
