Re: Results,then what happens?
Monday to Friday is massive job losses. Let's not accept anything like this until the Government say it's OK and we have no choice.

Why do you have to constantly tell people you're voting no?
The one's that say "I'm leaving the Union if it's a yes vote" How selfish is that?
If the majority vote yes, even if you don't agree with it, you have to accept it. That is part of being in a Union, is it not?
i'd be flabbergasted if this deal got voted in, if this was polled like an election they would be predicting a landslide no vote, and i can bet my bottom dollar they haven't thought of "errr well what do you think we should do next" situation until we are actually in it,
by then we are getting more and more work thrust upon us, by the autumn my extra walking will be not far a full duty added
we all say "i'm quitting the union" said it myself a few times
perhaps if we all quit/rejoined for a week it would kick their arse, i'm fed up of their roadshow shindigs congratulating each others at the members expense, why not hold these at random places of work (or nearby in the open) for an hour at 3/4 pm? or will the tea & biscuits supply be too slow?

I personally think it will be voted in, but it will be close.
The top brass aren't slapping themselves on the back. They have said some of the things in the agreement are not good, but to look at it as a whole package.
I do believe this is the best deal they could get and is a lot better than what Royal Mail wanted initially, which was to impose everything and not to have any Union representation in the work place and compulsory redundancies.
The sick pay is s**t and the attendance procedure is worse. The Union need to look after people with long term problems who will fall foul of this.
I also don't like the idea of new starters on less pay and more hours.
The one thing we have is 115000 Union members. Imagine if the Union membership was only a third of the company, We'd be destroyed.

If the vote is yes, will you accept it, even though you don't agree with it?

Re: Results,then what happens?
He probably never joined a union to get shafted with an under inflation pay rise and lose his terms and conditions, surely being part of a union is to protect pay and conditions is it not,i put it to you if people feel let down by the people they pay to protect all this they should have the right to withdraw their subscription should they not ?sweepster70 wrote: ↑15 May 2023, 21:59

"You can ignore reality but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality".
To quote Ayn Rand.
I'm afraid Royal Mail are in a bad way going into a recession if not a depression.
Keeping your job will be a major achievement over the next few years.
And please don't bore us by harking back to the fake pandemic profits that were funded by the taxpayer.
The only reason we made money was due to people sat at home spending their furlough money and those millions of letters sent out by the NHS.
