Re: New RM offer
That offer is completely unacceptable.
Revisions based on frameless offices.
Annual flexi time (ie no finish times)
Performance monitoring technology used in conduct
No backdating of pay rise
CASH terms pay CUT if you get RRIS
Parcelforce screwed over
No employee / Union input over changes
Who in their right mind would roll over and accept that trash? The job would be unbearable

Re: New RM offer
Have to agree with this, I get that those in London and surrounding areas will struggle on what they are paid, but £13.36 ( including delivery supplement) an hour must be one of if not the best paid non skilled job out there. Very tough physically though, it has to be said. My main gripes are the worsening t’s & c’s and the amount RM have wasted over the last few years on many things. Yet there’s no money for us.

Frameless office would see many including myself on the sick with stress and eventually leaving the business. The place is a complete cluster f**k bombsite as it is, take away frames which somewhat keep you organised would be insufferable.sindba wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 14:27That offer is completely unacceptable.

It’s the old way we used to sort with the pigeon hole frames

Absolutely, it’s unbelievable and won’t save any time- it will make prepping far worse and it can be annoying as it is. The only bit of organised work in what is a very chaotic and unorganised workplace-well in my DO anyway.toonshola wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 14:33Frameless office would see many including myself on the sick with stress and eventually leaving the business. Re: New RM offer
RM's aim with frameless offices/bench merging is probably to enable them to merge many DOs together and get money from the sale of lands

Had to look it up. Sunderland?Wullie10 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 14:13Wullie10 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 14:12Keep flying your flaglet me guess . Inheritance or wife has a well paid job ? It's ALWAYS one or the other. Seen it all my years. They flew the flag at Wearmouth colliery and now its a football ground and the blokes work in Tesco.
Maybe there are no decent jobs going in Sunderland There are plenty elsewhere in the country.
I like this job so will fight to keep it as a decent job, but if we eventually lose the fight I have no fears about finding another one. As for being well off. Not unless my numbers come up tonight. I do though have an abundance of pride and self belief. Striking isn't easy but the alternative is the destruction of a good job.

You could have given of your own time and done all 4, but I understand good will has gone now - to RM's and the community's detriment.HTPostman wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 10:07Maybe because he doesn’t have time. Could be Monday or Tuesday, could be dead before they receive them, used to be bothered, now I do not give a flying f**k, Simon do what you f***ing like it no longer matters, I’m sure I speak for 80 90% of the staff? f**k em, life’s to short.
On one particular day on a rural duty I had just 10 mins left after doing tracked/specials/boxes/collection, I had to make a choice to deliver between:
1. The street that I’m parked next to that will take me 10mins to deliver to, they put in an official complaint they haven’t had anything all week and my boss has said try and deliver there
Or
2. Old Ethel who lost her husband last month, has an NHS letter about her cancer screening which she told me she’s expecting and lives all the way down a farm track that takes 5 minutes to get down and 5 minutes back up.
Or
3. The old people’s home who have birthdays, doctor appointments etc but again it’s a 5 min drive away.
Or
4. One of the local farms that the other reserves can’t find, and I know the farmer is driving around the village looking for me to give me a peace of his mind. He’s got a huge pile of letters with invoices in.

Re: New RM offer
It is barely adequately paid when you consider the long term injuries that many will suffer - needing joint replacements. This job is classified as heavy industrial due to the long term wear and tear.

Re: New RM offer
You're getting a £3/hour premium [gross not net!] over minimum wage to compensate for a job that is classified as heavy industrial and will raise you're likelihood of needing joint replacements or steroid injections for painful arthritis in the future.SMS1969 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 14:31Have to agree with this, I get that those in London and surrounding areas will struggle on what they are paid, but £13.36 ( including delivery supplement) an hour must be one of if not the best paid non skilled job out there. Re: New RM offer
Just heard from one union rep at an office about 20 miles away saying “98% of staff are going in this week “ it is only him & 1 other staying out.
Now I know some may call this BS but I said on another thread that 25% of my office is also going in tomorrow after being 100% solid up until now. If this is being replicated up and down the country (and there’s no reason to believe it isn’t) then this isn’t going to last much longer. If all people hear is that the CWU have rejected this latest offer and trot out further strikes dates then the amount of people returning to work will gather pace.
Now I may have fallen into the trap of assuming because this is going on locally to me that this is being replicated across the country - it may not and I may be wrong. However, those on here who assume that because their office is 100% out thus everywhere else must be may equally be wrong. Bear that in mind!

Re: New RM offer
That's a lot of people willing to roll over and let RM do what they want. They'll soon be moaning when later starts, annualised hours and commit to deliver (I'm assuming that your office is a DO) get brought in and a load of allowances get axed (think RM will go for ALL allowances if the CWU roll over)

Re: New RM offer
Unbelievable!! Just you worry about your time. Don't worry about eldery people waiting on hospital appointments or birthdays that are a God send when you're in one of those places. Just leave them in the frame for days on end. Fs God forbid if you get old and find yourself in that position one day. If doing the right thing takes you 5 minutes over your time then just worry about yourself.HTPostman wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 10:07Maybe because he doesn’t have time. Re: New RM offer
That’s if they still have a Job . If we lose this dispute there will be loads of compulsory redundancies. Also With no union protection can you imagine the bullying and intimidation.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 16:51That's a lot of people willing to roll over and let RM do what they want.
