A quick calculation sees that 6k redundancies will cost 150m.

I probably already know the answer to this but am just curious - I have handed my notice in and my last day is next week. I have been in the job just under 2 years, anyone know if I’m still eligible to apply for VR as im still in employment with Royal Mail when the redundancy offer is there? Thanks

You can only do this on that stupid People App?

That app isn't compatible with my iPhone or my Macbook....

Anyway to get around this other than buying a £1,000 iPhone or £1,400 Macbook?..... it's bloody ridiculous!
Yes (see below) and you can actually speak to your manager to apply as well (that's what we were told)

I do not have the people app is there any other way, not bothered about waiting until the 27th I'll go today :wave
If you've not got the app I'm assuming you're on a desktop computer?

Go to this RM webpage https://www.myroyalmail.com/PeopleApp a web browser link is at the bottom of the main text.
How to access the app

You can download the app on to any Android or Apple device from your usual app store, or alternatively you can access the app on any web browser via this link

What’s going to be the compromise on v r terms. Would the union get another 6 months tops. Royal Mail have already said you won’t get 2 years so where does that leave us ?
I don't think there will be a compromise on this issue - by the sounds of it RM might have the magic 6000 on THEIR terms ...

People need to realise any redundancy will be on basic salary.
No allowances etc will be included
Confusing this is from RM app
People have basic pay rates of £555?? Mine is like 450 or something?

If my DO is representative of the rest of the country, they might have 80000 applying.

Been at least 2 VR preferences exercises that I can remember so nothing new apart from the amount being slashed /serving notice on current agreements

The strike plan and general campaign is what's weakened the unions hand not this.

If you extrapolate our office interest, it'll be closer to 15,000

The previous VR preference exercises would have been based on the 2 years MTSF payout though

People right now registering they would accept these inferior terms DOES weaken the unions hand when it comes to getting a better payout than whats being offered

If 6000 or more people say they would take what RM are offering what is then the unions argument to get more?

There isnt one.

Thats part of the reason its so damaging engaging in the process right now
