I think It’s now guaranteed we will be starting later. Not personally an issue for me but it will be for the majority.

Depending where you work I sense the move to parcel hubs is inevitable and that will lead to rounds increasing in size. I can't see the RM stepping back from removing the allowances.
Someone mentioned in another thread that their DO will be getting all the large parcels back starting in the new year, which makes me think that RM are abandoning the idea of local parcel hubs
They aren't.
It is included in Royal Mail's latest proposal.

Why then would someone have been told my management at their DO that they'll be delivering all their own large again from the New Year?

Someone said someone else said something.
We used to call it Chinese whispers before we were woke.

There is a persistent rumour at my DO that the dedicated parcel duties are being done away with in the New Year and we are having a re-sign.
For some it is a guaranteed FACT. It is still nonsense.

Just on the office having large parcels back after having specific parcel duties , that was me and it is 100% happening in January.

As for the rest , if the union agree to commit to deliver, banking of hours and flexing time on a daily basis , not only will I leave the union , I’ll make sure I get as many as I can to leave it too.

It will show they’ve got absolutely not a f**king clue about what we’re really worried about.

f**k that then. It's bad enough now trying to tell a manager there's too much f***ing work, and not enough time to do it in, even though it's blindingly obvious, I won't be sticking around too long for another increase in the absolute fuckwittery that is our stinking job.

We have put together a new pay-for-change offer which is the maximum it can be under the
circumstances. I need to make it very clear, there is no scope for any further increase to this
pay-for-change offer.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Is this a new maximum, the last maximum or the 1st maximum?

The Q&A document on Workplace says the same thing, I'm not really sure why the ballot or strikes have been cancelled if RM have no intention of increasing their offer, if they do intend increasing the offer then I've no idea why ACAS has allowed they to publish the Q&A document if it's incorrect.

Woody we are mostly in agreement on the issues you have highlighted.

There better not be annualised hours. No chance of us agreeing this but there will be seasonal variations to ensure productivity does not drop.

There better not be flexi-hours. No chance of no finishing times and this.

There better not be bench merging. It does not work we run trials and it could not work. I think Royal Mail want to have the IPS and prep done in mail centres and again this is unacceptable.

There better not be commit to deliver. Royal Mail have run a trial without union involvement on and this is clearly targeted at reducing CSP Hours. This is a new proposal and we need to understand what they are actually saying and the impact from this.

There better not be performance "management". I am a no to any individual performance standard and have always been.
Never mind acceptable solutions, these are unacceptable in any form.

We're already delivering our own large stuff at our D.O

Our DO is based a minimum of 30 minutes away from the proposed parcel hub, I can see it makes any sense to send a fleet of vans on a 60 mins round trips to deliver large parcels, when there's already a fleet of vans capable of doing that based at our DO.

It would be physically impossible for it to happen anyway, no MC would have the floor space, especially MCs that have got PSMs in, most MCs don't have any spare floor space as it is, with one shift's storage area being another shifts work area. They'd also need to employ way more staff, as we're well short staffed as it is, with probably at least a dozen casuals/agency in most nights, often in the summer as well
