I can see this company going to the dogs. People will leave en masse and they won't be able to employ the numbers they need as they simply won't find tens of thousands of people who will work medium or long term for this pay, on these terms.

It's already getting there and it's the decisions from high up that are crippling it. Take the latest overtime ban for example. Customers pay good money for a service and they expect to get what they pay for.

That's not happening a lot of the time though and the overtime ban will only make the service worse. Never mind 1st and 2nd class letters sometimes being up to a week late. More and more parcels will fail and customers will look elsewhere. They already are.

The problem is, the way I see it going... to get out of this dispute, the Union will have to cave in to a lot of the change agenda (if not all), and then they'll have to sell that to the members, not an easy task. However, what usually happens then, is most people start talking about "it's the best we're gonna get", and totally change their tune.

The company have already told us their plan, the more we strike, the more of us get made redundant, and the more "new entrants" they hire on worse, T&Cs.

It's Bullshit for sure, but there's not an easy out from this dispute.

The next strikes are on 12th and 14th of November, after that, there are only 5 full weeks until Christmas and if there's no deal by then, this dispute is over.
There's no point in continuing into the New Year, none whatsoever.

They need to replace that lump sump with a % onto next years and back date the 3.5% to april this year to even make the deal taste a little sweeter, As right now that pay deal is nothing but very sour and bitter.
