I've held some PB's for most of my life, but have only had the maximum for the last 2 years or so and have averaged £165 in winnings per month in that time. I make that an average interest rate of just under 4%.
Most people will probably get a better return from savings accounts, particularly with rates being quite high at the moment. PB's are obviously a different type of investment, giving you the chance to drastically increase that return – if you're lucky.
It's always best to diversify and you should never put all your eggs in one basket, and PB's are just one basket you could choose.

Completely agree with you. I am just trying to point out that a few hundred a month isn't realistic.Hyrrokkin wrote: ↑30 Sep 2026, 20:50Yes but people invest in PB because it is essentially a lottery but where you get your capital back when needed.celtic1967 wrote: ↑30 Sep 2026, 19:51A few hundred a month isn't realistic. I get an average of £120 on my maximum holding
You get lucky or do not that is the bargain struck when you put your money in.
