Everyone needs to stop thinking of this on longevity and rational terms for the sake of the business. People keep telling themselves that management will see sense etc etc. They don't give a flying f**k about a longevity plan. They want to drive the business into the ground sell gls make a fast few quid and f**k off. Please please stop talking about this scum as people to negogiate with . They aren't bothered. Think about it.. your a low life millionaire I've been given control of a business with a pension deficit (ill have that). Same business owns a 3.5 billion arm in Europe ( hey hey look at this millionaire freinds). We can take this f**k off the founding arm of bullshit we have to deliver and go to the next company we can asset strip. That's the reality. Anyone of us could be a greedy c*** and propose the same. It's Easy. Doesn't take intelligence just a total lack of morals. 115000 plus people rely on this piece of bolocks to support our families and keep a roof over our heads. The millionaires in charge want our lives destroyed for an easy few quid. It's a sustainable business and 77 million man Thompson for some almost perverse reasons want to ruin our lives. I never want to meet this man because my freedom will cease to exist. A job at Royal mail will be the least of my worries

A suspension of IA this week wouldn’t be a failure or missed opportunity like many think imo.

We already have the plan for the next round. It takes us into our busy time of year which is the Ace we hold.

At this stage I don’t believe ACAS can be used as a stalling tactic provided we go into talks with set terms.

So given the whole point of yesterdays announcement was to get the company round the table and making concessions, we appear to have gotten the first part already.
I don’t want to see people throwing in the towel and complaining if we suspend Friday and Saturday in order to negotiate. It would completely defeat the purpose.

Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water if it happens.
We need to hold our nerve and keep our heads.

All of this is correct.

Are you a supporter?
Absolutely not. Ive just seen you post it a lot and want to know where you found it out as it seems like even for someone who goes from payoff to payoff like Thompson, as an unrealistic figure for him to have made

Did you make it up? If so I'd rather we stuck to the facts, of which there many, to beat him with.
Thanks 😊

No we forgave the cancelling of the last planned 2 day strike due to the death of the queen it was incredibly fustrating but reluctanly accepted.

Then we waited 21 days to get the next IA on which was sold on the premise of "just do the 2 day strike" then there will be no more strikes for several weeks" noticeboard punt.

Now if on the eve of the second planned 2 day strike it is also called off at the last minute........ then all members should turn in their Card's to their CWU site office as it will be clear to all that we are just being used.

People will have made plans cancelling childcare etc just like last time.

We need to actually go through with a 2 day strike.

Not only are you

A- Being completely unreasonable and naive
B- Talking nonsense regarding the necessary time required between bouts of IA in a lengthy dispute for a number of reasons including longevity and employee affordability

But you

C- embarrass yourself with your earlier post on the thread of:

“ I want my long weekend too!!!”

Christ some posters really pant pishing themselves over this meeting
Also some s**t stirring - 'i told you so - look at me look at me i told you so...if i am right i can come back here and crow to you all...look at me posting
The CWU are fully aware the ACAS route is time wasting stall tactics and will not fall for that one...if they did....
Then the fall out would be massive from their members
We shall see

Theres a reason it has a disclaimer saying ''Please only use it for a guidance and Mr X's actual income may vary a lot from the dollar amount shown above.''

Its sole purpose will be to get ad revenue from clicks

Dave Ward and the CWU have had 21 days (3weeks) to issue a new strike date timetable why did they wait until tuesday this week to issue it at 7pm?

I'll tell you why.....because the whole aim was to get as close to this weeks 2 day industrial action as possible that is why.

With aim of having "last minute" 11th hour "talks"

OH THE FECKING DRAMA :Applause

Seen all this exact stalling tactics 20 yrs ago in another industry, it will be eventually spun as "oh we thought the company were seriously "reaching out to us" so we called off the IA as a "goodwill gesture" but....BUT....BUT N..NOW....W..WE REALISE THAT THEY WERE JUST STALLING US, SO N..NOW......W..WE REALLY MEAN BUSINESS :evil/mad

RAH RAH RAH :cuppa

Why was the strike action only really escalated after the CWU felt RM intended to de-recognise the Union?
Or am I being too suspicious there?

Was just thinking that myself.
Why wait until 3 days before a strike to announce a new one??
This was bound to happen, so if they want to have to talks, have them a few days BEFORE- then if it's obvious RM are tossing about, just go ahead.
Really boils my piss how stupid this union is.

It's actually a tactic though i have seen it a few times before, i was a shop steward for 12 yrs in another industry / union
