Re: Tomorrows Brief
My office are having 2 official pickets one on the car park entrance and one at the entrance to the yard. Only 6 allowed per picket line but as many as we want can stand across the road.

Our managers have told us, no WTL this week and we aren't pedalling that nonsense.

Re: Tomorrows Brief
Details of what is and what's not permitted re. picketing, while not unimportant, seems a bit of a distraction. Those planning to work on Friday need a pretty good reason why. I haven't heard or read anything close to being a good reason. It's a strike; it's a withdrawal of labour, the most important stand a working person can take. Never, ever break a strike. Do so and show utter contempt for working people.

The six people thing:
Here is the test:
If someone wanted to cross the picket line and work, how many people maximum would be trying to talk to the person?
If your answer is six or less then the other people that are close by are fine.

Incorrect the GUIDE suggest 6, max the picket line, but you can have as many supporters as you want as long as they are not causing problems for the public. Indeed on the last strike, a Police Sgt visited our picket which had 30, but as it was well behaved and was not blocking access he just reminded us of our responsibilities, and then had a bbq burger.2yearpostie wrote: ↑24 Aug 2022, 16:14https://www.gov.uk/industrial-action-st ... -picketing
there should be no more than 6 people outside an entrance to a workplace.
If you don’t stop picketing when told do so by police, you can be arrested.
The police will only tell you to stop picketing if you break the law, cause a disturbance, or not allow workers to cross the picket line if they want to.
I was hoping you had stopped posting stuff like this without providing documentary proof of your assertions or is it your mission to spread misinformation?
I don't have a problem if you disagree with the strike, or indeed if you intend to work, that's your right. But when you seem to be posting misinformation, or, being generous, your misunderstandings, then that is starting to be an issue.

This is going to be an ugly battle and I dont want fellow postie getting nicked even if I dont agree with striking.
As my posts have to be agreed with by a mod before they are published someone in the team must be ok with my posts?

As far as I know, I am the only mod approving your posts and I do so on a post-by-post basis. If I can challenge misinformation from you I will approve it so that I can challenge it.
But if in my opinion if you post something that I think is just to antagonise or troll the board I will refuse it.
You can disagree with anyone you want even me and POSTMAN, but you cannot disrupt the forums by posting obviously false information or post anything that is designed to upset others. It's in the rules.
If you behave eventually you will be let off the naughty step and allowed to post along with everyone else.

You've been selective in your extract, firstly it's a 'Code of Practice' not the law. Try reading section C which relates2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 Aug 2022, 13:13

to the law, the six pickets guidance is not mentioned there as IT'S NOT THE LAW.
And you selectively missed out the word 'usually' as in
in the GUIDANCE.usually there should be no more than 6 people outside an entrance to a workplace.
I know you won't get chance to read this during the day as you're probably busy delivering, but when you've finished have a look.

Thanks TBT! At least its good to have an open disscussion. There is no intent on my point to wind anyone up, I genuinely believe everyword I type, I thought by posting the link that people would seek to read the entire page it came from.Thank you for you continued support.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 08:23No all you proved was your misunderstanding.2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 Aug 2022, 13:13
