Re: How many will strike
Those that don't strike will happily take whatever we have earned for them though at our expense. Even if I was the only one in our office planning to strike I still would, we have to look at the bigger picture. and support each other everywhere.

Hopefully the 2nd ballot will have "or action short of a strike" on it

The fact that the shares have been hoovered up by a director's wife seems decidedly dodgy. If it was above board and they weren't worried about insider dealing accusations then surely he would have bought them in his name.redlen wrote: ↑22 Jul 2022, 14:21A Royal Mail Director's wife/partner Katherine Amsden has just bought about 100k’s worth of shares at 291p
Something is in the air, such as a GLS sell off or forcing through changes with Executive Action like the 2% pay rise. Confidence is high on a settlement.
Make no mistake, this is total war as they have already picked the bones clean

Even if for some fanciful reason she suddenly decided she wanted to spunk 100K on shares you would only invest that amount if you'd been tipped the wink. What makes it even more suspicious is that only 24 hours ago the company was basically lambasted as a lost cause. What this basically confirms is that the board at Royal Mail is bent and corrupt and is constantly manipulating us and the business to drop and raise the share price. Rico Back was doing the same in the couple of months before he left, he was constantly feeding the media bad news and then every time the share price fell he would hoover up vast amounts of shares. There are strict rules over insider trading but unfortunately there are so many corrupt people involved in the running and regulation of this country and it's businesses that bugger all will ever be looked at or done.

If you can't afford to lose a day's pay what are you going to do if you're ill and don't get any pay for three days thanks to Simon's new sick pay policy?
What are you going to do when you can't earn any overtime in the run up to Christmas because they've got you working 44hrs for the price of 37hrs?
What are you going to do when you're having to fork out another £150 a week in childcare because Simon wants you to work until 5pm?
If you can't afford to strike you might as well start looking for another job because if we lose this battle you won't be able to afford to work for Royal Mail.
I have a little respect for people who stand up and say I'm not striking because I don't believe it's right, I have zero respect for people who make excuses and try to justify their excuses and then try to get others to agree with their excuses so they can feel better about their excuses. Grow up and take responsibility for your decisions.

More nonsenseIt is not as easy as simply cancelling subscription services. The majority lock you into 12/24 month contracts

And have no respect for an individual who uses insults and obscenities with every other word, simply throwing their toys out of the pram because they simply cannot hold an objective debate. The root cause being political or organisational loyalty clouds cognitive judgement. As soon as an individual uses insults, cognitive dissonance takes hold.
If we accuse managers of this, it would be called a form of bullying or unwarranted behaviour with an obvious character flaw

It's not an objective debate.
I'm using facts and providing evidence.
You're spouting ill informed nonsense and trying to sound clever.
Circumlocution.
There's a big word for you.

I'm going to put this up on our union noticeboard! If this doesn't make it clear nothing will.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑22 Jul 2022, 20:47If you can't afford to lose a day's pay what are you going to do if you're ill and don't get any pay for three days thanks to Simon's new sick pay policy?

Actually, before you criticise the news media source, their information is from a central provider that is referenced in that link.yellowbelly wrote: ↑23 Jul 2022, 12:26LOL - you've got the wrong 'Morning Star', this one is the financial news/reporting site.
