For those who are sick to the high teeth of the job as it is now, this is how the future lies for you.
Until RM becomes similar to that of other well known courier companies (and it will happen, no matter how long it takes), every working day will be pressure, politics, backstabbing, bitching, hating coming to work, later starts, Saturday & SUNDAY working, unrealistic workloads, being pulled up for the pettiest of things, PDA Actuals and Trimble watching your every move, the list goes on.
Even IF yet ANOTHER great deal is agreed, it will only be in force for a matter of months before said deal is in tatters like all previous deals and you are back to square one. Anyone who has been with the company a reasonable amount of time cannot disagree with this.
How many thought that the new CEO would be different? Yes, all started reasonably well but now that he is under pressure from the board and shareholders to deliver more and bring RM into the 21st century, it's back to the toxic atmosphere of the previous CEO. Any future CEO will just be a repeat....
Every "deal" has done in the past and will do in the future, erode parts of your terms and conditions in return for increased pay because that is exactly what the word "DEAL" is.....something for EACH side. So anyone on here who thinks that the company will just keep giving and giving without taking and taking is totally deluded.
The definition of the word "DEAL" is..."an agreement entered into by two or more parties for their
mutual benefit, especially in a business or political context".
Don't forget, the CWU only ever use the words DEAL and AGREEMENT.
Many on here have decided that there is more to life than being miserable at work, which does impact on life outside work, and have moved on. Everyone on here who has done so have all said that it is the best decision they made, they can't all be wrong.
So yes, you are definitely at a crossroads, you either just stick with it or move on.
