I just did a quick check on the Royal Mail tracking website and they don't recognise the number.
Also, the number doesn't conform to the UP10 guidelines as there is no KS in that list. https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmXoypizjW3WknFiJn ... dard).html
I also can't remember if I have ever seen a KS, but if it's a real one I think it's probably a "Signed for" rather than a Special Delivery.
If you aren't expecting something then it's possible it's a scam number that someone has sent you.

I've seen both SD and non SD items with barcodes starting with a K

Ask them to confirm it, tell them you can't track it, might be a typo.

Its a "Signed for" item (used to be called recorded) - although there is no tracking until delivery is attempted - the system does now recognise the number.
