Lost/Stolen?
I was sending a LARGE parcel to music magpie (xbox series x)
Tracking number:
QX779570663GB
Service used:
Royal Mail Tracked Returns 48™
Using this service. Dropped it off in my local post office last Thursday, it was collected and taken to swansea Friday Morning. Then Nothing.
I doubt its lost. The label wouldn't have come off as it was fully taped and I also haver a rts taped on there anyway. Went to swansea and of course nothing.
So should i give up all hope as in our office tracks are always prioritised even when the rounds dont go out or if we cut off all tracks will go that day even if its on with the LATS.
If i do have to claim etc, is it down to musicmagpie or myself and would I get the £310 like they say for the xbox or only the £100 that tracked returns 48 cover?
Cheers

which is not what RM say about Tracked 48 returns ie 100. Be interesting to see who wins out in that battle, but hopefullyIf after 7 days you haven't received an update that your order has been delivered to us, we'll be able to register a claim against the relevant courier company.
If you chose to send your order with Royal Mail, Evri (Collection or Parcelshop), or ASDA toyou, you'll need to contact us within 28 days of sending your order. You'll need to provide the tracking number(s) related to the lost parcel(s) as well as any IMEI numbers of Tech items so we can forward this information over to the relevant courier for further investigation.
If you contact us after the claim time frames outlined above, we'll be unable to make a claim with the courier and will therefore be unable complete your order.
Once all of the required information has been received and collated by the claims department, they will proceed to process the claim. Once the investigation has come to a successful conclusion, we'll update you via email and issue your payment at the original price. If any further information is required from you, we'll be sure to get in touch.
your item gets to where it is supposed to be going before you have to resort to a claim.

Re: Lost/Stolen?
Yea cheers mate, I read that on music magpie too, and that's why i got confused. I'm hoping its correct as i don't see why I should lose out. Otherwise I would have sent it special delivery to them to make sure I'm covered.
Really cant see this getting delivered now though, its a week tomorrow for a tracked 48, bit strange. But also, if it was nicked, who the heck walked out of work with my parcel that size lol! Probably agency

Re: Lost/Stolen?
What part of the UK was it going to?
For a company like Music Magpie, they probably get hundreds of items that need signing for each day so they might well get a direct delivery from the local MC and sign for items in bulk. It might have missed the scan at the inward MC and been delivered but awaiting the confirmation to be uploaded

Re: Lost/Stolen?
Im not sure to be honest mate. The post code was xx201ff which is just used for returns. I still cant see it taking a week though for a tracked? I check it each day hoping its changed or just been delivered but so far nothing. And even if it was at another MC wouldn't they scan it as being received?

Re: Lost/Stolen?
The return tracked are not the same as ordinary tracked, so though the system has not been updated it likely has already been delivered. We do have plenty of threads on here of Customers using XX return postcodes getting worried about the lack of tracking, but most seem to appear eventually.Kris147 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2022, 10:31Im not sure to be honest mate. Re: Lost/Stolen?
Oh ok, cheers mate. Do you think that music magpie would be honest and say they've received it even if the tracking never updates? because their system seems to go by the tracking.

Re: Lost/Stolen?
Yes. But they will also have a local internal system of tracking orders as well or at least should do if they want to keep costs down.
If they weren't honest they wouldn't stay in business too long either, Trust Pilot has Reviews 232,601 for them and an average score of 4.5 so they seem pretty decent.

Hello Kris,
Thank you for your email.
Looking into this, I can see that your order has now been received by our local depot and will be processed into our warehouse as soon as possible.
Although the tracking may show as "delivered", this is the terminology used by third-party carriers to show its final tracking point from leaving their depot to be delivered to us.
We receive daily consignments each containing hundreds of orders which are then scanned and re-routed to our goods in team.
We'll notify you by email when your order is being physically worked on by a member of our team.
In most cases, we'll be in touch not long after the tracking updates but it depends on the time of day that we receive the consignment that contains your order.
Kind regards
Chris

Would you say that means theyve got it or it means its in the network? because how can he know its in the local depot if it hasnt updated on the rm website? The tracking doesnt even show as delivered

Tracked returns get processed exactly the same as normal Tracked, same mail stream as wellTrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑14 Jul 2022, 11:19The return tracked are not the same as ordinary tracked, so though the system has not been updated it likely has already been delivered. Re: Lost/Stolen?
So currently I have an issue with Music Magpie also, I sent my phone and a couple other devices in, got an email from them saying it’s been delivered, HOWEVER it turns out just because it says delivered on RoyalMails site it infact only means it’s at the local sorting office of MM - so after 7 days I checked and still showing as “awaiting item” on the MM website so had to get through to their terrible CS on web chat who eventually advised me the parcel is now deemed lost or stolen with RoyalMail. I’ve had to report the IMEI as stolen and report them all on immobilise as stolen. I now have to wait up to 14 days for MM to get back to me with an update on the outcome of this investigation. So don’t let the status of “delivered” fool you. As said my parcel has now gone missing…
