How long could you strike for..

People seem to prefer the idea of rolling one day strikes which I believe are likely to have very little impact onRM or its business customers.

What is the difference between going out one day per week for 6 months or going out for one week every 5 weeks?

It may have even more impact if we do the rolling strikes by function over those weeks. A full week of no collections from businesses and post offices followed by a full week of no processing in the mail centres etc.

Its already tough for most of us to lose any pay by striking but most people cant afford to lose a full weeks pay from the same pay packet

Its easier to budget for losing one days pay a week over a few weeks

Not if it doesn't sufficiently damage RM. We will lose far more money for no gain.

How long will you be prepared to be treated like s**t is the question the answer is for how long till your on minimum wage or have no terms or conditions. People years ago like my grandfather fought for these rights whom some will say are archaic or spanish practices but you need to fight for your own just cause as the future of your own offspring is in jeopardy one day they will thank you for your fortitude!

Think our office are already on strike, no rush to chuck the walks in, sorting at snail pace, no rush to get out, take half/three quarters of the walk out, stretch out the last loop to finish on time, no ones bothered anymore

people will use other services and loss of revenue will happen given the fact the have put the price of 1st class up 10% and 2nd class 5% and said the may make further price rises because of staff costs. Not only this will damage reputation of the brand big customers will find other providers this alone would make most CEO's think but someone has told a private company what it has told staff pay will be guess who that was?

Your missing woodys point nobody can afford to lose a week especially now. done 16 days back in 2006 its a killer big debts follow.

We could go all out weeks and weeks this is not an option thing is once a strike is called ROYAL MAIL will lose business this is a fact no if's but's it will lose business MONEY the kind of which fat cat's need to pay their own exorbitant pay packets! But one thing they did not think of is people will turn away from us because of pig headed management at the top even their own managers say the same it is being run into the ground by turds!

Most of agency in mc i work in have been in an out for years an all have said they won't be in so whats your theory.

Some job's take skills be it Mail center or DO or collection Hub once these people are not there the system will fall apart!

It is now legal to bring in agency staff when employees are on strike

Good luck with getting agency staff, we could only get 2 at Xmas as there just isn’t a big enough pool of labour available at the moment. You wouldn’t want to be an agency putting strike breaking staff in either, the cwu will murder them publicly, it’s not worth an agency’s reputation.
