Delivery Attempted but deutschepost has no record?

Hello,

I sent something to a friend in Germany last Monday (30th) and when I check the Royal Mail website it says delivery was attempted but actually when you check Deutsche post I got "No item could be found for the posting date you indicated. Please check the information you entered." When I check DHL.com as the parcel is being handled by them once it arrives in Germany all I get is "The shipment will be transported to the destination country/destination area and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization." So why has Royal Mail claimed it was delivery attempted but no sites are even claiming that it has arrived in Germany?

I have phoned up Royal Mail three times and all they are claiming is once it leaves Heathrow they are no longer responsible for it which I've been told by other employees that is a lie. I went to my post office where I sent it and she told me Royal Mail is lying because if it was out for delivery DHL or Deutsche post would have scanned it and it is actually they haven't received it.

My friend went to his local post office and they can't even track it and they don't think it is even there yet in Germany.

So right now I don't know what to do or who to ask. I just think how Royal Mail has spoken about it telling me I should next time use Parcel Force is disgusting.

Any advice would be helpful

Looks like a DHL packet on this tracking rather than Deutsches Post - also it looks like its being returned to sender. Although the tracking is a little weird - it may be that they left a card. Might be worth contacting DHL on twitter https://twitter.com/DHLPaket

I've tried to contact DHL on Twitter and I don't think they even know what is going on with this parcel. I checked the link to the parcelapp and it says it is being returned to sender but where has that information come from because DHL own website doesn't even say anything and I checked the Royal Mail website now and it is now saying Item Received Germany.

It is the second time I have sent this parcel and now it is being sent back if that is the case for no actual reason. I've sent things to my friend for years now and I've never had this issue before.

I will give Royal Mail another call to see what they say.
