Hi everyone - I need some advice....
I have an EMS parcel sent by a friend oversea. The parcel arrived the UK on the 3/5/2022.
The parcel is shipped by Parcel Force and stuck in the International Hub for 8 days now.
I have received parcels using exactly same shipping method in the past for three times.
I totally understand custom clearance can take up to weeks to a month.
From experience, if the parcel is awaiting for custom clearance, the tracking record will show "Awaiting customs clearance" or "Awaiting payment of charges". These message normally showed up straight away after arrival either on the same day or the day after.
However - this time the tracking showed "Arrived in the UK" for a week now without updates. It looks like the parcel has not even been scanned and submitted for custom clearance procedures.
I have tried to contact Parcel Force by phone, by email, by Twitter but they all unable to help.
Could anyone share their experience with me - is it normal that the tracking showing "Arrived in the UK" instead of "Awaiting custom clearance" (for more then a week) ???
Also, is it a good idea to contact the International Hub or the Custom directly???

At the moment 8 days isn't a long delay if customs have decided to check a particular batch. I am afraid it's a case of keeping an eye on the tracking and being patient.
