Item hasn’t moved for 5 days

Post by Alison123 »

Hi,
The sender has mailed the package last Monday (the 25th) at Gloucester Road post office in London but the items hasn’t moved since then. It is using the special delivery by 1 pm service. Tracking only says item is accepted at Gloucester Road post office. It has a passport and some other documentation in it. What are the chances that it is lost? It is weird that it hasn’t moved at all. Is there anything I can do?

The tracking number is JS524634664GB

That's weird that the tracking number has been accepted twice at different post offices and on different dates. That shouldn't happen, I would contact Royal Mail and Post Office Limited - something strange is going on, they may be even investigating what happened.

It’s because I purchased a prepaid envelope in Bristol which then was used to send me back my documents from London. That’s why it was scanned in two office. Can that be the reason for item getting lost? Is there anything I can do? I called the customer service last week but they were no help. Just told me what I could already see on the website.

If you bought a pre-paid envelope for return of your documents it should not have been scanned in when you sent it off. Just to be clear, these are valid in one direction only.

What they would do then in this situation? Is it possible that they don’t accept it and return it to the sender?

I went to the post office in London and the guy check their list and the tracking number was in the list. It means they definitely have accepted the parcel. But he said he doesn’t know what has happened after as it’s down to the royal mail. He said it got messed up because the post office in Bristol shouldn’t have scanned it. Is there any hope to retrieve the parcel? It has all my identity documents in it 😔
I don’t understand why it matters how many times it is scanned? It has an address on it and isn’t delivered

There is always hope but I would keep badgering official Royal Mail sites (we aren't) - you could even try Twitter and their is a final option of the Postal Review Panel, But hopefully it will get sorted soon.

So, the embassy informed me that the package was returned to them because the stamp wasn’t valid. The guy in the post office who sold me the prepaid envelope in Bristol shouldn’t have scanned it. I will complain to the Post office because they should train their employees properly. People use prepaid envelopes all the time for their important documents and they can’t afford to lose them. Other issues from RoyalMail’s side was that there website shows it has been accepted to the post office in London but it wasn’t. It was rejected. The website should show the correct information or when you contact customer service they should be able to help. They can’t just say we don’t know ! That’s why we buy the track able service. I just wrote this here for anyone that might have a similar issue.
