Re: Update on pay
You have to look beyond what is only a frightner by the business and union to down dial member expectations.
Look at it this way.
If the business had offered 5% no strings last week and given that inflation is running at around 8% the union would have a hard job selling it to the members.
Fast forward to this week and after the scaremongering the union could claim a 5% no strings deal as a win.
Has no-one ever wondered why the CWU never puts a figure on their pay demands?
We're being played.

Re: Update on pay
Maybe they are going to stop the London weighting.
Some posties will be £100/week worse off.
If we are going to have a grown up conversation about the pay proposals let's at least make sure we are in possession of the facts.
Going off half cocked is so childish.

Re: Update on pay
A new video has just been uploaded to Workspace confirming the RM wants to remove the allowances/supplements but they intend buying them out or increasing employees pay etc to compensate them. I believe Employment Law protects employees anyway so they can't just be removed w/o some compensation, which the CWU must know is the case.

Not for a docket king colleague of mine who gets to take the van home everyday because he doubles up. He lives 12 miles away so thats 24 miles of fuel per day that he’s not having to pay for.

Re: Update on pay
The current CPI measure of inflation rate is 7% in the year to March 2022. This means that prices (on average) are currently 7% higher than they were a year ago
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Doubling up,everyday,as in doing 2-full walks,every day?!
Jesus wept,he must be minted. I’d be too wiped out to spend anything! What a life,eh!
“Shorts,in this weather?!”
“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”
“What’s she been ordering now?”

Re: Update on pay
If my memory serves me right (and at my age that isn't a given) they were offering 18 months last time this was discussed.

Pretty much everyday. The guy is a machine, and these are not easy walks AT ALL!!! He must be off his head the speed with which he does them in.

Re: Update on pay
Well morale in our office has hit a new low after hearing this news. They can shove it after all our hard work over the pandemic, the revision cock ups and now this. Why is it always the deliveries that have to suffer when there’s so much wastage in other areas of the business???
