Snap. I actually dropped my pay by about £150 a week by going from a 5 day week (plus working my day off so 6 days a week) to going to a 4 day week with zero overtime. I’m not going to accept inferior T+Cs now.

Re: Update on pay
It's down to if RM move some 1st class from going by plan to going by road and rail. If they end up going it then it'll arrive at MC later, probably a couple of hours later, so the final dispatches from MCs to DOs (and probably any dispatch before the final one) will be the same amount of time later. That's going to have the knock-on affect of the mail arriving later in DOs (probably hitting morning rush hour traffic) and so start times for MC night shifts and all DOs will be later and finish times later. Realistically many DOs full timers will end up being 09:00-17:00 or 10:00-18:00

Re: Update on pay
It wouldn't surprise me one bit, as i don't think this kind if thing is far from the truth. I doubt the regulator cares about the erosion of the USR either, i get the impression they'd just happily tick their boxes and fine RM, allowing RM to continue with what they're doing now.noggin1969 wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 06:23They can't recruit or retain staff now, they're also throwing silly money to get agency staff to work Sundays. The only reason I can see for that offer, is to crash the share price to let the Czech major shareholder and mate of Putin grab another cheap chunk.
I'm actually surprised that RM has the infrastructure to rely on train services without heavy investment in that area.

Re: Update on pay
What a joke of an offer, basically 2% payrise when the RPI is 9% - the other 3.5% they're offering based on nebulous 'changes' and 'productivity bonuses' may as well be ignored.
Even if we somehow get everything, it's still effectively a pay cut.
Now RM, despite what we all may think, aren't stupid - they have to know this is basically inviting a strike, so they must have something planned to open with such a slap in the face.

Re: Update on pay
I think you’ve read it wrong - they are offering 2%, plus a further 1.5% with strings. So a total of 3.5%, not 5.5%.Minischoles wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 10:07What a joke of an offer, basically 2% payrise when the RPI is 9% - the other 3.5% they're offering based on nebulous 'changes' and 'productivity bonuses' may as well be ignored.

Re: Update on pay
Other 2% is the 'above and beyond' productivity bonus scheme, so 3.5% of the possible pay rise comes with strings attached - whether its 3.5 or 5.5 the 'payrise' is a pay cut in real terms.HTPostman wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 10:43I think you’ve read it wrong - they are offering 2%, plus a further 1.5% with strings. While i'd love to think the upper management are all idiots, there has to be a plan - this is basically provoking a strike, even as a starting lowball offer its an insult.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

RM has used trains in some shape or form for many, many years. The TPOs lasted till around 2003. I believe that some mail sort gets transported by trainWASD wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 09:31It wouldn't surprise me one bit, as i don't think this kind if thing is far from the truth. Re: Update on pay
Interesting, I’ve not seen any mention of a productivity bonus. Poor offer all round though.aiden01 wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 10:55The other 2% is in productivity bonuses think thats were the 5.5% is coming from.HTPostman wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 10:43I think you’ve read it wrong - they are offering 2%, plus a further 1.5% with strings. Re: Update on pay
Is there a deliberate ploy to list things in the conditions (Sunday working, later starting, be more flexible) that already apply to newer staff, officially or not, to make some only see the 3.5% increase?

Re: Update on pay
Talking about rise being 2%/3.5% how much would staff lose if allowances are taken away ??? I think it would be more than what they are offering so basically a pay cut
