Signature Capture - Re-instating our popular signed for product
A big thank you goes out to everyone who is already capturing signatures from our customers - and a reminder that our deadline for full re-instatement of Signature Capture is coming up on Sunday 1 May.
Following consultation with the CWU, we’ve been re-instating Signature Capture throughout the month of April.
Frontline delivery colleagues should now have received a refresher from their manager about how to capture signatures and an associated reminder brief about dog awareness.
Our standard operating procedures on Signature Capture have been updated to include new guidance on using PPE and how to handle the PDA when getting a signature from a customer (please see sections four and seven of SOP22.2 in particular for the changes.)
The brief is therefore not only a vital intro to Signature Capture for delivery colleagues who have joined since we temporarily suspended the feature in March 2020, but also contains vital updates for those who worked with Signature Capture before March 2020.
If you have not yet received the refresher on Signature Capture – please ask your manager for details. If you are a manager and have not delivered the refresher to your staff – please click the links below and ensure that your teams are fully briefed.
We temporarily suspended Signature Capture, which is a feature of our Special Delivery and Signed For products and some Tracked variants, in March 2020 as part of our response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
With life returning to business as usual, we have taken a cautious approach to re-instating the feature, in line with Government guidelines.
We asked colleagues to begin capturing signatures from Monday 4 April, with a view to reintroducing the feature at a pace to suit colleagues with normal service to be resumed by the beginning of May 2022.
