Would someone be kind enough to look into a tracking number for me?

Post by gared1 »

Hello,

I returned an item to Nintendo UK and it seems to have been held up at the Northern Ireland Mail Centre. It's quite conerning as the item is part of a refund and I'm worried that if the item goes missing I wont get my money back.

The tracking number is - VZ887839605GB

I messaged RM on Twitter, and the customer services assistant just copied and pasted what it says on the tracking page. I thought they might have had more details than the normal public would be able to see.

The item is a Nintendo Switch, which has a built in battery. I sent it back in the box it was shipped to me and it had the UN3481 sticker still on it - maybe this has caused a problem?

Any help is appreciated.

That is a bit odd. But it was last seen early yesterday, so it hasn't been missing in action for a huge amount of time.

You seem to have used a pre-paid return service. If so, then if anything goes wrong it up to the people paying for the return to make it up to you. The main thing is that you followed all their instructions *and* followed the dangerous goods laws, e.g. wrote your name and return address on the outside.

A common problem with returns is the other party abusing the system. This is a rather technical question but: do you know how it was paid for?

Hi Snaggletooth,

I paid for the Switch with PayPal. I'm sure PayPal will be helpful if anything should go wrong.... hopefully anyway!

I followed all Nintendo's instructions to the very letter. I have provided them with a picture of the Post Office receipt.

Many thanks!

The question was: who paid Royal Mail for the returns service, and how?

If you are using the official Nintendo service then it is probably alright. It's usually the smaller operators who do this wrong.

Thank you again, Snaggletooth.

I am pleased to report that the item is going to be delivered today. What a relief is all I can say!!

Thanks for your help.
