Hi there,
I was expecting a package (diecast models which are very sentimental for me) from Liverpool, UK which was sent to me in Sweden. However the package was returned back to uk by Swedish customs, probably due to the fact that the declaration form which according to the sender was attached on the package was lost during shipment. So the package ended up (according to the tracking number) in Feltham DO being there for 1,5 months and today the tracking on Roy Mail website says that the package has ended up in National return center and now has the status of being “delivered”.
So my question is: are all returned packages will first end up at the National return center before they actually are delivered to the sender?
The sender claims that he has putt his address on the package but I’m thinking if he would have done that then the package shouldn’t have ended up at National return center, or am I wrong?
What can be done here to make sure the package will be returned to the sender? Please note that the sender submitted a lost claim on the Royal Mail website 2 weeks ago (i.e 2 weeks before the package ended up at National return center). Are there any more forms or other things we could submit to really make sure the package will be sent to the sender?
I would be thankful for all advice about what we should do so that the package return to the sender.
Thank you!
Eddie

Re: My package has ended up at the National return center
That is correct, with two exceptions:
1. The return address has gone because the sender put it on a sticker and the sticker fell off (quite common) or the packaging has got damaged while in the mail system (more rare).
2. The contents are suspected of being dangerous, as defined by the Dangerous Goods Act. This should not be a problem for diecast models unless they have batteries in them.
Sounds like the sender has done what he needs to do.ersnav wrote: ↑09 Mar 2022, 23:37What can be done here to make sure the package will be returned to the sender? So can we still be hopeful the package will be returned to the sender now that he has filled a lost complaint? How long does it take before the package will be destroyed at the return national center?

It can take weeks or months to be processed at the NRC. If this is something you have bought online you really need to put in the refund claim without waiting to find out whether it gets returned to the sender.
