RM website shows item delivered

Post by doggiewear »

Hi,
I run a small dogwear business and since I am vulnerable, I have appreciated postie 'signing' for my items on my behalf. But it has occurred to me in the past that this is open to abuse.
I posted an item (worth £50) to a customer in Chichester and RM website says it was delivered on Saturday. Customer claims no knowledge - not her knowledge/she was out at the time at a cafe and has receipt to prove it.
I made all usual suggestions - check safe place/check with neighbours and asked her to check with her postie if he had a parcel for her on Saturday (assuming he could remember). She said larger deliveries usually come by van and postie did not deliver to her on Saturday.
I have opened a case on RM website and have sent a letter to her delivery office - maybe won't reply but if she is genuine, it seemed worth a try to see if they can tell which postie delivered the item.
Can RM staff tell where an item was scanned - for example by a gps log or something?
(Customer has now opened paypal case saying we haven't answered her latest email (which was late at night) and she has demanded a full refund. If she is genuine I really want to help but she has used a different email on her complaint to paypal rather than the email in her own name - again that could be innocent but little alarms are sounding.
With thanks
Alan

Posties can't see the GPS location of when an Item is scanned, but managers can. They can also tell which postie scanned it because we have individual log in details.
