Is there any possibility to get back a package from National Delivery center?

Post by ersnav »

Hi,
I was expected a package from U.K to be delivered to me in Sweden via Royal Mail. The package had significant value for me although the declared value on the declaration form was rather low. For some reason the package was refused in the Swedish customs (they claimed that the declaration form was lost when it reached the Swedish customs) and the package has been sent back to the sender (who lives in in Liverpool).

According to the tracking status the package has now been in Feltham for more than 10 days since it was returned. The sender has provided he´s address on the shipping package.
So my biggest fear is that this for me valueable package will end up in the "national return center".

My questions are:
How long does it take until a returned package reaches the sender in UK? (the pacakge has been in Feltham during the last 10 days according to the tracking number).
In case the package ends up in National return center, is there any possibility for me to make it sent back to the sender?
Are there any possibilites that me (the reciepient) or the sender actually visit the national return center office and get the package in my hand?

Appreciate any help or clarifications on this matter!
Regards,
Eddie

The NRC is in Northern Ireland, so not exactly convenient for someone in Liverpool. The package should be returned to sender, but if it does somehow end up at NRC then the sender should submit a lost parcel claim.

Ok thank you for your response but my concern here is to really get the package and not some money which then would be nothing in regards to the package´s real value.
The package is very important for me. Is there any possibility to get the parcel in my hands if I visit the NRC by myself or make the sender to visit the NRC and get the package in his hands (providing the tracking number)?

thank you!

So does it mean that if a parcel has ended up in the national return center for one or another reason; is it then lost forever? Or will it still be any possibility to make the Royal Mail to send it further (back to the sender or forward to the recipient)? Will the parcel be lost forever if it ends up in NRC? I’ve heard that they keep parcels up to several months?

Thx,
Eddie

It's strange that it's ended up in Feltham as that's in London, a fair distance from Liverpool. What's the tracking number?

If there is a return address on package it should be returned to sender. sorry but can't give you a timeline.
