Posted a small parcel to the USA on the 4th Feb,
I have sent on many occasions and usually it has been delivered in 5 - 8 days but when I checked online tracking it arrived in Langley on the 5th Feb and its still there awaiting departure, it is showing up on USPS but at HWDC awaiting departure.
Its nothing dangerous and is clearly marked on the customs form as a motorcycle headlamp surround.
Whats going on, looking at other posts on here I'm not the only one.

Indeed although there are no notices it does appear that there are delays at USPS. I don't think it's stuck at HWDC, that's probably just the last place it was scanned as it was passed on to customs. The parcel turned up in Jacksonville USA on the 18th Feb and is now out for delivery.
