Down to 1 office so the public think that everywhere else is working 100%.

Our office had three van share pairings today where one of the duties didn't go out, though the Tracked and Specials were obviously done. I was on one of those van shares and went in knowing that I was by myself. After being there about half an hour a manager came up and the conversation went roughly along the lines of:

Manager – hello, have the other managers told you what is happening today
Me – no, no one has said anything to me at all but I know what I am doing
Manager – well you see your partner isn’t coming in today (I knew that, it is his day off)
Me – I know, I will be doing my round plus all the large and the Tracked/Specials off both and if I have time I will do the small packets.
Manager – well if you are short on time stop doing letters and do the parcels
Me – what, in breech of the USO despite what the company has recently said
Manager – yes well the country has changed and people want their parcels
Me – oh yes, all these hospital letters that the company legally have to deliver are no longer important. The company is disgraceful in their lying.
Manager - I don’t disagree with you but………………………………..mumble mumble mumble

So after statements from the company and the union that the USO must come first, here again the lies are proved. People on my duty waiting on important letters can go and rot as far as the company are concerned.

Later on today-Simon said...

we have now looked at the office performance statistics - and all operational practices including fairness of workload + absence & recruitment - and relative performance versus all other offices nationally - in rank order - based on this, the team have opportunity to please the customers - let’s see where we land…..

Remember-Wimbledon came off the 'In trouble' list after 29 Dec.

He doesn't half talk some tripe. If there's anything that rubs up the frontline staff more it's management gobbledygook speech.
They must all go to some secret school for business leaders where they learn the art of talking patronising, condescending management double speak b*ll*cks to their workforce...they must think we are so thick to not see through their rubbish.

And if you did make some comment about it to your DOM: "That's just being Negative ..... We're not going to get anywhere with that kind of cynical attitude .... We need to be more Positive (My Bonus Depends on it)"! :speak to the hand

Yeah Right .... Jog On Dickhead. :cuppa

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Hanwell DO (W7)

Well well well, what a team effort, all gone now bar 1.
And in a quirk of fate, Hanwell was where I was born, in a house don't you know.
Hanwell must be in an catastrophic state if they are on the ‘list’ and our office is not. But credit where credit is due, well done to them :Applause

Why don't they just change the criteria for failing offices again and get the list to 0?
