Internationally Tracked parcel stuck at Langley

Post by mjb1990 »

Hi there,

I was hoping to maybe get some information on a parcel that has been stuck on "We have received your item at LANGLEY HWDC, our international processing centre. Your item is being prepared for despatch overseas" Since December 14th.

The part that is worrying me is that a second parcel (sent AFTER) from the same seller made it through almost instantly and I have received it. The parcels contain a Jacket and hood - I received the hood portion.

Is there a chance this got lost? What would you do in my situation?

You need to contact Royal Mail about this. Things don't usually get stuck at that stage unless RM suspect the package fouls the destination country customs rules. And the only way I can see this being a problem is if the jacket is one of those ones filled with feathers.

Hi,

I have a similar issue with an item that I have been sent from the US and it's showing as having been received at Langley HWDC on the 15/12. The item is an archery sight which if i'm not mistaken should fall under sporting goods so I don't see any reason to which should have been held by customs. I have purchased similar items in the past and never had an issue. I have tried to contact Royal Mail by phone and this has been frustrating to say the least as you can't speak to anyone. I have emailed them but I had not reply as yet. If anybody on this forum could help, it would be much appreciated. tracking number LX687202328US

Many Thanks

That's strange, this is a waxed cotton jacket (Barbour) without any filler. Their customer service is closed until the 29th

Ah well, patience.

That one is definitely in Customs, and there are massive delays there. Whilst your individual item may have no issues, Customs may have chosen that particular batch of mail for further checks. It's not something Royal Mail can control.

The reason I know it's in customs is that USPS scanned it as they handed it over; they are one of the very few firms that do that. The Royal mail update is copied across into their system when USPS scan it, so despite how it looks the physical object is still not yet in RMs system.

To add on this, I also have a package stuck at Langley in the same state, preparing for despatch, posted on Dec 15th and bound for Vancouver Island.

Dec 13th was the cutoff date for Canada Christmas delivery according to RM, so it might just be expected delays. Sucks since it was a Christmas present, but it was posted after the cutoff date after all.
Though it's hard to shoo away thoughts like the shipping label falling off.

This makes me feel a bit better - I'm hoping I get an answer from customer service at some point. I'll let you know here if they say anything of note.

Hello!

On 6 December I posted a very special handmade Christmas card to my granddaughter in California, using the International Tracked service. It still has not arrived. Tracking - both via Royal Mail and USPS - shows it was received at Langley on 8 December (see below), but there is no further information. I'm distraught as it took me over a day to make this card...

Can anybody help? Where is it likely to be? Is there a way of talking to someone who can tell me what is going on? Or do I just have to accept that it is lost?

Thank you so much if anyone can help!!

Your item has been processed through a facility in LANGLEY HWDC, UNITED KINGDOM at 2:08 am on December 8, 2021.

It's probably stuck in US customs. I believe that there's also long delays at USPS

Thank you, SpacePhoenix.

I'm just worried because there is no indication whatsoever where the item went after it was 'processed through a facility in LANGLEY HWDC, UNITED KINGDOM at 2:08 am on December 8, 2021'.

That's FOUR weeks ago! Why is there no update as to where it is now? Or even just an indication that it is in the US.

Officially it's not in the US till customs release it, and they can't scan it till they get it. There are apparently huge delays in Customs and USPS at the moment, but they aren't saying so officially. * Dec was only 5 days before the last posting date and there were already delays then..

The only advice I would give is that it should be released soon, but I would keep an eye on the dates you can put a compensation claim in, RM seems quite strict on the timings.
