I sent an item tracked and signed and it said on the 17th that the item was leaving the country on the Royal Mail tracking website. Underneath it stated the location as “United States of America”
Once you click the “continue tracking “ option however where it should take you to the USPS website, it actually takes me to Deutsche Post and not USPS. When I enter the tracking info in any other tracker it also states the destination is Germany. How can this happen when it clearly states USA on the parcel? Or is this just an online error and it may actually turn up in the USA?

Without a tracking number to view the current status, it's impossible to answer your query. With the tracking number, we can check various different sites that give different information.
