Parcel missing on the way to NZ

Post by heatherd »

Hi all,

I'm really glad I found this forum because I'm quite worried. I sent Christmas presents home to my family in NZ on November 22nd. On November 24th it said it was leaving the UK, but I've had no updates since.

I emailed NZ post, who said they can see if the parcel got on the plane, and that it didn't. They said it's still in the UK. I rang royal mail, who say it did. Along with a toy for my nephew I bought 2 phones for my brother and sister in law that cost £300. I'm worried someone has stolen it

Any advice would be much appreciated. I don't know what to do.

Any lithium batteries in the parcel? New Zealand doesn't allow lithium batteries, I don't know if that also applies to batteries sealed into a device like the phones will be if they're smart phones

Oh, I don't know what kind of batteries they have.. but maybe 😟 what would happen in a scenario like this? Is it just returned to sender?

Thanks so much for your help.

The last tracking point you provided shows it being put on the plane in the UK. In most instances there wouldn’t be any more tracking until NZ customs hand it to the local mail operator.

As to what happens to mail that has prohibited items in, you would have to ask at the NZ end what their policy is, but it usually isn’t good.
