Makes me laugh seeing comments about solidarity, 99% here would sell out their colleague for an extra tenner or an early finish.
Isn't that the truth?! We have a guy who, as he applied to an ad for a full time employee and they only offered him 30 hours, works his hours exactly and refuses to do anything more. If the frame he's on isn't sorted, he takes it as is because "part timers don't have to sort".

Other postie's complain about him constantly, as if he's in the wrong for not doing overtime to clear other people's frames on their day off

I still enjoy the job but like most others say, they keep adding things on, so you either avoid confrontation and complete or you work to your time with all the crap (from other posties not just management) that comes with it. (Quote)
This is the thing. Other posties who cut all corners and work for free, are worse than managers when it comes to sniping at anyone who does the job like its meant to be done and ends up not completing. I find it laughable when they slag you off for a "joke" in front of everyone and then in private say "you are doing the right thing" What is the matter with these people.

Yeah, maybe Simon the clown will realize that if you treat your staff like dirt and put profits before their health and working conditions then a lot of those people will stop caring about the job. I have not taken a day of for over 5 years until two weeks ago, when my son fell ill, I was going to ask my mother to look after him but I thought, stuff Royal Mail, they don't care about me, so why should I care about them. Phoned in sick and stayed of until my son was better. This is my attitude from now, stuff Royal Mail they don't care about me, so I don't care about them. Also the psychopath ignored government advice and told people they dont have to wear mask in the office, so guess what 80% of my office got covid and have been of on the sick with it. Not the brightest Simon, you really don't care about your workers health and put profits first. Basically the man is a total capitalist w**ker enabled by a champaign socialist union leader.

I think right from the start of the Pandemic The Royal Mail Board decision was made:
…………Do as little as possible and late ……..

You can tell this by local managements dismissive attitude and how unimportant Covid Safety was rolled out and practiced.

Looking at the sickness chart ,I think Royal Mail have done pretty well considering.
Why is the CEO dishing the dirt on a public platform?
Manipulation

It’s all Capitalist Bullshit and insulting.

Simon, mate....

It's common sense...
You are going down the route of.... lets under recruit and leave the staff to go over their time, clear double mail etc etc... do you not realise this destroys people mentally and physically?....................
Very Good Post Norris :Applause I think you've expressed a view that most of us Posties can relate to :thumbup It's unfortunate that I doubt Simon will ever read it. If he did he'd assume it's from a miniority of disgruntled staff. Perhaps you should e-mail it to him? :hmmmm

I feel the majority of us are just running on empty now. It's a combination of having worked through Covid (perhaps with some sense of duty) and once we'd done that we thought there'd be some reward ( a DECENT ....SIGNIFICANT ....Cash Bonus), or at least a breather, but instead we've just had another increase in workload. :Boo hoo!

We're also coming into that time of year when everyone starts picking up colds & flu, which we're now more susceptable to because we're run down. RM have lost that good will that might have made us work through it in the past. :no no

Add to that the continuing shortages of staff (and the fact that Managers are too Dumb to nuture their New Recruits causing them to walk straight back out of the door :arrrghhh ) and it's a perfect storm. We've now got the Christmas Pressure period picking up, with all the "Normal" BS ...... I'm amazed we've got anybody left in the building.

Merry Bloody Christmas ..... I'm sure Simon and his board members willl be enjoying a restful time with their families ....... while asking everyone else to work that little bit harder! :cuppa

Bet he's never done a hard day's work in his life and he has the nerve to have a pop at posties who have been working relentlessly since covid. Absolute wage thief and shadow of a man. RM are lucky anyone turns up.

I joined ages 20 after a brief career change from engineering after doing my a-levels (got 3 Bs total). Was attracted to this job as thought it would be good to have a job which you can get out and about in ect..

Anyway 3 years later and i had had enough and decided I was going to university to do engineering again. Do miss the job and the banter, never had a problem with any of that but it was the tingling sensation that the job was doomed that was depressing me so decided I had to leave.

Still get sad to think of it, as I think really postman was my dream job and a perfect fit for me, but financially I just could not afford to live on it, and let me mention I was on a limited term contract for over 2.5 years after being casual hours for 9 months… mental  :cry

What utter s**t!
why do you think long term sickness is going down then simple Simon?
Could it be that 1. People are bullied back into work by your arrogant, Dr. Kildaire's who know better than your consultants/Gp's?? and 2. How many of these `long term` sick people are paid to f**k off under ill health?
So assuming the cretin wants to `improve` short term sickness you just know they will impose the `you don't get sick pay until day 8` shite that his predecessor tried, only this time Uncle Terry Bullshitter will probably bend over and issue another `joint` LTB saying it's for the good of the company sick pay won't be now paid.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.
