Yup, there alreadyHTPostman wrote: ↑28 Oct 2021, 19:08The worrying thing is, certainly in my office volume/traffic is only about 60% of what it will be in a months time. I can honestly see us getting to a point where we only take one row a day plus tracked!twoloops wrote: ↑28 Oct 2021, 18:12Mail sorting abandoned, full trays everywhere, most of walks in our office only half the frame & tracked gone out yesterday & today, not many got out before 10:30/11 even the hardcore who always complete have given up the ghost, I really can not see where this is going to end, unless they put the frames back exactly how they where, just been told in our WhatsApp group why our line manager (who is quite a sound straight bloke) did not come in today ...... knocked off with stress![]()

Re: Revision Disaster
I actually think they are trying to kill us. Even the flyers are fed up and often cant complete. The planners and management are a disgrace, and the job will cripple you in the long term. In my office i think they have exploited the good will of people who previously, pre revision were prepared to go over nearly every day to complete, by adding another 80/100 calls to the rounds. ridiculous. Christmas is coming and my 37 hours are exactly what i am working.

I don’t really know what the plan is. Just speculation but I refuse to believe higher ups are this stupid, I think it’s just to drive the service to such a poor level that the USO has to be changed. If they can lose a few of the fed up senior postmen along the way (replacing them with PT on ridiculously short contracts) then it’s a Brucie bonus.Edward Hunter wrote: ↑28 Oct 2021, 20:22I actually think they are trying to kill us. As for the union, they seem increasingly out of touch yet probably know deep down there’s nothing they can do to stop anything RM decide on.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

With the mail arriving into MCs later, frankly I can see all MC and DO attendances times being at least an hour later within the next year, maybe even 09:00-17:00 for DOs

Re: Revision Disaster
A relative new starter asked one of the more senior people in our office something along the lines of "have they messed your walk up" to which the senior guy said "no, they've messed up the whole office" which I guess is true.
I really don't know what I pay CWU subs for anymore because all our rep is now is basically a get out of jail free card for when someone messes up. I hope the media get wind of what's happening and put it on the papers especially around Christmas time. ALl the new CEO cares for is keeping shareholders happy at the cost of Royal Fails employees health and well being.

Re: Revision Disaster
We have mail & packets in frames since Wednesday, not getting out until after 10:30, we are just taking out 2 or 3 loops of mail while one does all the tracked, other walks are pulling it out like it was before it was changed which takes longer, the weird thing is the managers don't seem that bothered & the most posties have give up the ghost, absolutely bonkers

Were the same , the 12 duties that were prob the biggest in the office had the most added on lol. The only way it can work now is to do the right thing and put them back to the way they was before, easily fixed ,,,. We cannot believe that the dom wont go down this road , its the only way that itl work. Can someone tell me is it because he dosent want to report that his plan didnt work etc? Its unreal .

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No, they don't have to go over, they really don't. Unless they want OT which of course is finenorris9 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2021, 09:46How do you do that over Xmas? if you work your hours over Xmas then unless you have an easy round you are going to be bringing back a reasonable amount of post/parcels each day which would cause mayhem day after day.
I can only assume you have an easy round or your management is very understanding and helpful that maybe they get someone on overtime to clear the mail you leave behind.
This said.....that is how it should be! We should be able to clear our rounds on the busiest days, we should not be in a position where we are pressured to go over to complete. Rounds should be easily doable and they should top us up to our finish time with lapsing on lighter days....
The reality is that rounds are too big and most Posties at our depot have to go over their time most days to complete. This is completely the wrong setup.

When you get “Not seen you for a few days, been waiting for that” what do you say?

Re: Revision Disaster
I would tell them the truth , , that we're under-staffed and can't get mail/parcels out everyday.
Maybe the way out of this for us is more headlines of our disruptive service making the local and national news.
Then maybe things will get sorted properly ?

Re: Revision Disaster
I used to explain - short staffed, too much work, not enough time. But I found most people don’t actually listen, they just wait for you to finish then moan about it not being good enough, how they’ve waited ages for that.
So now if I’m collared on say the Friday I just say it’s nothing to do with me, I haven’t been at work since Tuesday. People seem to accept that.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
