At my depot , no one covers your day off , so you come back to 2 days of mail and parcels , it's been like this for weeks , what a shambolic way to run a company , i remind the managers we need more staff. I think there's been a ban on recruitment until just recently , it beggars belief, maybe we'll get a few new people in before xmas , who knows

It'll only be agency temps if they do. Today is exactly two months to the big day....quick, someone tell Simon...so realistically you'd need people in the door and token trained by now at least.

The clusterfuk to crown all clusterfuks is almost upon us.

With what you read on the news about lots of job vacancies everywhere in many industries, it makes me wonder if we'll have anywhere near enough staff in MCs to process all the mail this Xmas. If the volume of Tracked goes really insane then realistically we'll have to sacrifice the mech and just walk sort only or maybe down to batch level only (with any merged batches walk sorted only) to free up staff for the Tracked

Our depot has been recruiting new staff left, right and centre.

I suspect some get fed to other units to help out

They have stopped lapsing and started bringing in "bag carriers" that basically come in at 9am and deliver loops/packets that posties aren't taking on their rounds.

But it still doesn't clear the office!

And yet there are still some posties finishing an hour before their finish time! lol

Planners have come in asking us posties for a write up after screwing up every single walk in our office, what a joke.

It certainly looks like the CWU have given Royal Mail enough rope to hang themselves. (revisions)

On Paper it will work, in reality it will not. No trust in the people who ACTUALLY do the walks to be honest with a revision, instead, get someone who looks at the laptop, not compensating that 1 person could be running around or paying a cash job.

A football team with the best 11 players in the world will not always win the champion league.

Some Mumbo jumbo about weighted items per hour and efficiency. Us posties are too dumb to understand the details but it’s all been explained on here and Facebook by Martin Walsh. Take one look at Martin and you might suspect the guy couldn’t complete a block of lapsing never mind a 5/6 hour delivery. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it’s absolutely true, same goes for 80% of the management. We have people who struggle to walk to the coffee machine telling us these new monster delivery’s are achievable. It’s messed up.

A lot of our duties are now been returned to pre revision status, we told that the revisions had to be done because of otherwise RM would go bankrupt :hmmmm

Mail sorting abandoned, full trays everywhere, most of walks in our office only half the frame & tracked gone out yesterday & today, not many got out before 10:30/11 even the hardcore who always complete have given up the ghost, I really can not see where this is going to end, unless they put the frames back exactly how they where, just been told in our WhatsApp group why our line manager (who is quite a sound straight bloke) did not come in today ...... knocked off with stress :cry

Apparently it'll take a couple of weeks to sort, bit sceptical as the back log on some is massive and unsure if RM have saved the previous fitting layouts

The worrying thing is, certainly in my office volume/traffic is only about 60% of what it will be in a months time. I can honestly see us getting to a point where we only take one row a day plus tracked!
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
