Pity we cant just use camera. For all those idiots who say leave parcel in enclosed porch, shed etc. When they have not got one. Then complain parcel was not left.

So you are at the door, it's pissing down and blowing a gale. You have a bundle of letters in one hand, the customers parcel that requires photo capture in the other.
How do you take the photo?
Keep it clean!.....

How many times do customers open the door and they have just come out of the shower?
I can just see the reaction as you wave the camera in their direction (and the husbands reaction in the other room as he realises you have just taken a picture of his wife with very little on)

This isn't new guys and the number of photos of mine or my household's feet out there would make a podophilia person, well, happy I suppose.
It's not hard guys.
The taking of a photo that is.
How many of you are now googling...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Hope there's a robust contingency for when the PDA camera causes the app to crash, like mine did the other Saturday

We'll be given a pad of paper and will have to do a drawing of the parcel inside the doorway.

Into the mix add the Hound Of The Baskervilles frothing at the mouth trying to get out of the three inch gap now that the door is open........DiamondSmiles wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 16:09So you are at the door, it's pissing down and blowing a gale. Re: Photo Capture on Delivery
Good point. At least with the current way of working, you can take a picture on your own phone and input the number later, saving the 'customer' from having to wait at the door. How can we do that with photo capture, unless we can transfer from our phones to PDAs? (Bluetooth transfer?)
Or will we keep the 'customer' standing at the door on a wild winter's day when it's howling a gale and there's driving rain coming in:
"Just close the door Mrs Smith. I'll knock again when the PDA's rebooted!"
(Mrs Smith closes the door, looks down at her feet and realises she doesn't have any shoes on, and that her toenails haven't been trimmed recently. Then thinks "I don't have this trouble with Amazon")

Re: Photo Capture on Delivery
Would it be better to just have a continuously running body camera so every single moment can be recorded. Like the police do.
In fact, the Pda is more than capable of this already, what are we waiting for? They're much lighter now, and along with its already functional gps, glonass, step counting, motion detecting, sound recording and front and rear cameras.. this is the perfect solution!
We wouldn't need to scan anything, the customer could just login to our live stream
Only joking...... you would still need to scan

Re: Photo Capture on Delivery
Quite a few times I've got to a house just as the customer is leaving. Am I supposed to tell them to get out of the car, open their front door and then wait while I take a snap?
I can see those customers with long driveways been absolutely delighted by this. Or those with very young kids in the car. Or those who need to be on their way urgently.
Royal Mail as determined as ever to alienate the majority of recipients who are perfectly honest and may well have a good relationship with their postie.

You can buy one of these body worn cameras via Amazon, not sure about the privacy implications though.Sndnkelemfn wrote: ↑22 Oct 2021, 20:12I wondered about this too. It would sort so many arguments out.

I hope you managed to get a photo of the dog as proof, as it chased you down the street?2yearpostie wrote: ↑04 Nov 2021, 17:32Had one today, the dog ran out the open door and i had to leg it.
