I sent a few documents via SD yesterday.
What details do the P.O. staff input into the system?
Just the number and postcode that’s detailed on the receipt?
Do they input full address off envelope or name of sender and return address off envelope?

Re: What info do post office input?
When I was there, just the postcode and building name / number of the destination address, so just enough to populate the proof of posting.
It might have changed since then, but increasing the amount of data entry would be costly and would have no obvious economic benefit to the Post Office. There are also GDPR implications.
Why do you ask?

Re: What info do post office input?
Firstly I originally asked because the item seems to have stopped tracking and didn’t arrive as expected - see new thread posted this morning.
Secondly when I contacted RM they seemed to know nothing about the tracking, I just assumed they recorded more information against the tracking, but I can see your point re the costs etc.

Re: What info do post office input?
The data that the PO inputs has no bearing on whether the tracking works or not. Addresses aren’t even collected for Special Deliveries when the bulk entry option is used.
