Can anyone please help me. I was advised by the post office that I had to send a customs form with a letter I was sending to Belfast. I paid for registered mail with Royal Mail and filled in the form but my letter seems to be stuck at Langley? I urgently need it to get to Belfast to
My son in law by Thursday but is has been leaving Langley since Sunday morning? I do not know who to contact to assist me? Can anyone please advise or look for it. It is an expired passport that needs to be handed in before a new passport can be picked up at Belfast passport office

That's some weird routing as stuff going within the UK shouldn't be going via Langley. Only stuff coming into the UK or leaving the UK should be going via Langley

Yes that’s what I thought. The lady at the post office insisted I had to put a customs form on the letter even though I said that Belfast was in the UK. She obviously told me incorrect information but now I can’t call anyone to find my letter

It looks like it reached Dublin and has now left Dublin but I dont know if it’s in its way to Belfast or back to me!

There is something weird going on here.
A letter to Belfast does not need Customs form as it is staying within the UK.
Looking at the tracking An Post should be sending it on to the Royal Mail and it should then carry on to the address on the outside.
Personally I would complain to Post Office Customer care - not only did they advise you incorrectly, they also possibly overcharged you as they sent it International Tracked and signed.

Thank you for your help and advice. I will complain as it looks like one of my family will not be able to come away with me at the weekend. But sadly it won’t resolve that issue.
