Question about A Refused International signed parcel

Dear friends,
Could you offer me some help, please?
I was really confused! I sent a parcel to my family, from England to Sweden; after the Sweden Customer released the parcel, It was refused to deliver, and now it is on the way back to England to me! And my family even didn't know the parcel had arrived in their town, but suddenly went back to me...(They didn't refuse the parcel). So here are the questions: 1. May I know the reason why? 2. Should I pay an extra fee to ship the parcel back? Or in other words, is the original shipping label invalid after the parcel was returned to me, even without a reason why it was refused? Could I ask for a new free label? (It seems I have known the answer is the label will be invalid, and our officer cannot offer me a free new shipping label... But I would like to make the situation clearer to me). Here is the tracking number: RY276076818GB

The label is invalid. You can ask Royal Mail for a refund on the old postage if you believe the carrier in Sweden has got it wrong. Best to do this after the parcel arrives back with you.

In theory, the parcel should carry a sticker saying why it was returned, usually by placing a tick against a short list of options.

I have relatives in Sweden. Unfortunately I have experience of items being returned undelivered for no good reason, although it hasn’t happened for a few years.
