Hi! i had to receive an envelope from Germany send my mother 2 months ago. in my tracking history is at LANGLEY HWDC on 15 june 2021. what can i do about it? is there any chance to receive ? because there is a important document. please help me.

We get a lot of queries about HWDC Langley and we can not give you anymore tracking information than what you already have.

If there is a delay it may be that your item is stuck in customs which seems to be the norm, there could be a CUSTOMS CHARGE or there could be generally too much work for the system to cope with.

And please note, most international items do not get tracked anymore in our system after arriving at Langley until they are delivered.

if it is a question of paying customs duties. how could i find out and pay?

depending on who is slated to deliver it you will either get an invoice through the post (most couriers) or a Grey Card from Royal Mail.

Other customers say they have contacted Customs and paid by card over the phone, but unfortunately, none have ever come back and posted the phone number they used.

Langley seems to be a big problem with items coming in and out of the UK, personally I think that they need to get their finger out. People are relying on there items getting from A to B.

What can RM do whilst an item is with customs? Not much, RM doesn't have any say over what gets extra customs checks or how long something takes to clear customs

Royal Mail operates what is called a clear office policy for all shifts, and all offices. In fact, 99% of the time once it enters RMs systems it gets processed very quickly indeed. The delays are normally in customs, which is a government agency and therefore cannot and does not answer to Royal Mail. Royal Mail in fact has no influence at all on how quick things are processed within HM Customs, and nor should it.
