I posted an item of jewellery to Japan via Royal Mail international tracked and signed. The buyer has opened a non receipt case and is wanting the £80 refunded. The tracking hasn't been updated since item leaving UK on 10/6/21. I rang and spoke to a member of RM staff who said the item had got to Osaka Japan (possibly Customs) but the tracking hasn't been updated yet. Can someone please help. The tracking number is

Generally customs in any country won't scan any items so when an item physically enters a country, it'll go to customs and only once customs release it to the local postal operator does it resume getting scanned

Ok thank you, seems to have been at Customs for such a long time . eBay need to see evidence of it reaching customs is there any way of doing this?

No, as SP says most countries do not track items into customs, therefore there is no proof of receipt. That is a completely unreasonable request by eBay.
