Signed for parcel not delivered to me
Hi, I had a parcel that was supposed to be delivered today. Tracked 24. Tracking showed it was out for delivery so was a bit surprised when my postie didn't have it. He said he would check the van but never got back to me, this was about 12:30pm. Tracking at this time was still showing as out for delivery so thought as is often the case the parcel would be delivered later. However on checking my tracking later on it now showed as being delivered and signed for at 10:49 am. We have security cameras which activate when anyone comes in the garden or up to the front door, nothing was showing for that time and the name that showed as the recipient isn't one of my neighbours that mail usually goes to. Can't do anything about it until Monday now because Royal Mail and Very customer services are both closed. I know I will get the item replaced if need be but do the PDA/Scanners that Royal Mail use record GPS location like amazon etc do, just so whoever took the parcel can be found if it does go down that route.

Re: Signed for parcel not delivered to me
Yes they do, sometimes if the system is working properly you can see a map and the co-ordinates of where it was delivered
through the official RM Tracking website. If the map doesn't show up (highly likely!) then you should raise an complaint either to Very
(who RM have the delivery contract with) or through RM Help Twitter (which is normally quicker than phoning) https://twitter.com/royalmailhelp?lang=en
The manager of the depot carrying out the delivery should be tasked with investigating the whereabouts of your item.

Re: Signed for parcel not delivered to me
Morning. I too have this problem. Special Delivery marked as delivered to my house back on the 16th June. I was home all day and it was definitely not dropped here as I was waiting for it. I’ve complained to the company who tell me that I have to wait 14 days for the investigation but my order cost me £125 so I’m worried I have lost this now through no fault of mine. Fourth time of ordering from this company and never had a problem. Anyone give me any idea what Royal Mail will do? It’s harder now due to Covid as the postman is signing parcels not the house so it’s not like i can even prove I’ve not taken it in. Can anyone advise what
Royal Mail will do in this situation please?

Royal Mail will look at the actual scan and using GPS identify where the postie scanned the parcel. They will also talk to them on the chance they remember the item.
To be honest, with a special delivery the postie should have knocked on the door, laid the item on the floor and stepped away. Then when the resident opens the door and picks it up, then and only then should they submit their signature, and your name and initials.
