I have a question I am hoping someone can help me get to the bottom of! I've tried Royal Mail and the Post Office but their info contradicts each other which is a bit silly!
I send a lot of postcards all over the world from here in the UK. For most of the world I use the International Standard service at £1.70.
However, as my postcards are not urgent, for Western Europe I use the International Economy service, with a delivery target of 2 weeks (for w Europe) which is £1.45. I have to get a bit creative with the stamps to get this amount but that's fine - most of the recipients collect stamps. The postcards seem to arrive ok, if slow. I write 'international economy ' on them. Seems to work.
The RM website shows the option to send items of 10g with this slow international economy service anywhere in the world.
Today a post office worker swore blind to me that this international economy service did not exist and I needed a £1.70 stamp for Germany. So at home I checked the post office website and it says that the international economy £1.45 rate DOES exist, but can only be used to send letters and cards OUTSIDE Europe. No mention of this restriction on the RM website.
I am truly befuddled. Please help! Can I send a postcard for £1.45 to Europe? Or not?!?
