Could you please help by giving me some inside knowledge and advice? I used Royal Mail special delivery to send my driving licence application, current licence and identity documents to the DVLA on 29th May. My tracking information says it arrived at Swansea mailing centre on the 30th May but nothing since. I had not known that the DVLA staff would be on strike the following week (and are this week too). What would Royal Mail have done if there was no one there to sign for my package? Is it still at the mailing centre and if so how can I get it back or delivered? I am very worried about possibly losing my identity documents.
Thank you for your help.

Really big customers will get their mail delivered direct from the local Mail Centre and will sign for anything that needs signing for in bulk. I would have expected the delivery confirmation to be available by now but the strike by DVLA staff might have caused a backlog somewhere

From the DVLA website
"Paper applications are likely to take 6 weeks to process, but there may be additional delays in processing more complex transactions. There is no need to phone to chase up your application during this time as we are dealing with all paper applications as quickly as possible and in the order in which they are received."
