Heads Up For Anybody Awaiting Packages From West Coast USA

Post by Grateful »

Hi all,

I thought this might be useful for anybody that is awaiting packages sent from the West Coast of USA such as San Francisco & Los Angeles.

Towards the end of April and through to around 15th May the customs in this area were incorrectly blocking packages and returning them to the senders due to misinterpreting compliancing regulations.

I only found out when I noticed that my packages from other parts of the US were being delivered but anything from the West Coast seemed to stall.

The problem seems to have been resolved around 15th May, but it may have affected your packages if they were shipped to you between mid April and mid May.

Here’s a link to an article I found and it’s well worth reading all the comments to get a full picture of what went on...

Hope this helps 👍

Hi,

When did you post your parcel? Has it been returned to sender?

Hi,

When did you post your parcel? Has it been returned to sender?

I’m the buyer, not the seller so I haven’t posted anything.

I have 2 packages coming through San Francisco and 1 through Los Angeles.

One package was posted on 6/5/21 and arrived at San Francisco International Airport on 11/5/21. I didn’t get any further updates until today, 24/5/21 when it was “processed through a facility in the UK” twice, which means I should get it tomorrow or Wednesday.

Another package was posted on 15/5/21 and was processed through Los Angeles International Distribution Center on 17/5/21.
I’ve had no updates since and the sender says they haven’t had it returned to date.

The final package was posted on 18/5/21 and reached San Francisco International Distribution Centre on 20/5/21. I’ve had no updates since and I haven’t heard from the sender to say they’ve had it returned.

It appears that if it is returned to sender you would get an update confirming this.

I now think that the last two just got caught up in the mess but will eventually shake free like the first one did.

Hope this helps 👍
