So, I’m in the US sending a package to my friend in the UK.
I didn’t get any updates for a long while from mid April then suddenly at the beginning of May it started updating again and uh, it got to Chicago then went to London and is now back in Chicago??
At first it said in Heathrow airport but then updated again the following day that Heathrow disappeared and instead said it departed London and arrived in Chicago and is now departing Chicago, again.
This is what I got so far -

Re: US to UK - USPS
Hi,
I know what it's like waiting for an overseas parcel when the tracking is confusing. Others will probably know more about this than me, but I'd be optimistic that your parcel isn't lost, as it was scanned again on May 15, by USPS.
I will try and explain what I think has happened, based on my own previous experiences. When USPS ships to the UK (Heathrow), they scan the item when it is coded to be loaded on to the plane. There do not scan every parcel on arrival in the UK, that is an automatic track that the flight carrying the parcel arrived in Heathrow.
What I think happened here, is your parcel was coded to depart Chicago on May 5, and the flight arrived in London on May 6; but I don't think your parcel was on it. Luckily, it's been picked up on a scan on May 15, and should be on the way to its destination.
It seems unlikely it would have arrived in the UK and been sent back to Chicago (though it is possible), but I would have expected to see an explanation in the tracking history.
The Parcel will probably be delivered by Royal Mail in the UK, so you can check the tracking there.
I think RM only consider the parcel as being in the UK when it has passed through Customs, so there could be a lag between any USPS arrival times and RM showing it moving through the system ...
You can always ask USPS to carry out a search - they are usually pretty good. It's been scanned, so if there's any problem with it (address issue for example), you can try and get it resolved early etc.
My take, it's been delayed, but I think it's gonna get there. Let me know how the tracking updates, as I'm having similar issues - I'm waiting on a parcel from the US.

Re: US to UK - USPS
So, I posted this elsewhere, do I need to contact anyone or just continue to wait? It’s been in the U.K. 6 weeks now: Greetings! My parcel is coming from the USA tracking number LZ994454400US. USPS tracking says: "Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM on April 15, 2021 at 7:55 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination." Royal Mail tracking says: " Tracking no. LZ994454400US This item is now leaving the originating country. More information will be available when it arrives in the UK."
So RM is expecting it, it landed at Heathrow on 15/4/2021 at 7:55am and left the care of USPS, was handed over to... someone... RM?, presumably RM didn't scan it and it's been at Langley for nearly 5 weeks now? I don't want to rock the boat but this seems an unreasonable length of time. Is there anyone here can advise me even if it's just to say that this delay is normal? Thanks in advance

Re: US to UK - USPS
check the replies in the previous thread you posted in. Apparently, USPS scans appear a little confused at the moment.
Also, USPS scan their items then pass them to customs, RM then has to wait till customs release them. That's where if it's in the UK it may be stuck.

I’m now in the same situation - package was shipped 06/11/24 and has not updated since 06/14/24. Did your package ever arrive?gaffzilla wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 08:11So, I posted this elsewhere, do I need to contact anyone or just continue to wait? It’s been in the U.K. 6 weeks now: Greetings!
