Re: Delayed mail
We are not an official Royal mail site so you would need to contact them. However you would have to have an exceptionally good reason to withdraw the item as its technically illegal to stop an item once it has been sent.Clancy wrote: ↑15 Apr 2021, 07:4412April2021 posted important paperwork via post to India To be delivered 5 to 7 working days. its still being processed at HWDC. Also with COVID still impacting international mail Force Majeure is still in effect in certain places. Also 5 to 7 days is not guaranteed, its an aim.
Also looking at the tracking https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/LG479231066GB its probably already in Indian Customs and is awaiting clearance.

No, there is not time limit.Gillybear70 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2021, 19:02Hi my parcel which is going to Dubai is still at Langley this has been there for 10 days, is there a time limit on this! It was sent by Royal mail track and trace!
But what is the last tracking message? Most people who post that on here have read the 'leaving the UK' tracking point, which usually happens at Langley, and construe that as meaning that it is stuck there.

You haven't provided enough information to give you any advice. Can you please tell us:Gillybear70 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2021, 21:03It’s still saying that it’s a Langley it’s definitely not left the Uk yet! How long will it take before it leaves?
1. Exactly what the tracking information says;
2. Exactly what is inside.

Re: Delayed mail
It probably has legally left the UK and is stuck in Customs in either the UK or Dubai unless there is an issue with the contents. Please also remember that as we advised in the post immediately above your first post, we are not an official Royal Mail site, so we can't give you definitive information, only advice and insight.Gillybear70 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2021, 21:03It’s still saying that it’s a Langley. Just to remind we are not an official site, however, the United Arab Emirates has a Banned and a Restricted list and on it is:Gillybear70 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2021, 19:10It says my parcel is being prepared for dispatch overseas, inside the package is a dress, toiletries, chocolate for my daughter who lives out there.
Miscellaneous edible preparations
The Chocolate you mention may mean that either Customs is checking whether it can be sent onwards or not.
Without a tracking number to see all the tracking points, it's difficult to advise anything. However, generally, that type of scan is the last one before its sent to Customs.Gillybear70 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2021, 21:03It’s still saying that it’s a Langley it’s definitely not left the Uk yet! “Toiletries” often cause problems. Some examples:
Aerosols and perfume usually trigger the Dangerous Goods act;
If it can be in any way construed as having a medicinal effect then it might be seen to come under strict rules on sending pharmaceuticals - the UAE has such a rule;
Many toiletries fall foul of rules in importing certain fats, although the UAE doe not have this type of rule.
