Re: YOUR BEST XMAS TIPS(worst)
Best one I got was in an envelope sticking out of the letter box.flopsie wrote:Had to laugh to myself this morning, got a tip given to me in a brown paper bag with 2 apples a plum & a scented candle! Its the thought that counts, i think.

I opened it and saw a 2 pound coin. "Tight git" I thought. The women then came out of the house and before she could talk I thanked her for the tip. She sort of smiled. (You know the one which says."What the feck are you talking about?").
As I went to throw the envelope in the bin I saw written on it ' Paperboy. Merry Xmas'. I kept on walking....I must have looked like Gordon Jackson in the great escape. I was waiting for her to say "Goodbye" in a German accent and to be shot right there and then!
I can t belive I kept it... It haunts me every christmas for at least 5 seconds.
Never did get a good morning from the young chap after that........................ All for sake of 2 quid. What a tosser!

One of my ole dears stopped me last year and said to me "You must get cold this time of year, hold on I`ve got something for you!".
I was expecting a wee dram or even a pair of gloves like I always get off another customer of mine and she returned with some of them old fashioned longjohns!
The lads at work took the piss for ages and started calling me `Compo`.

It's the thought that counts. It's probably a lot of money to her.Margate Postman wrote:old dear comes out the other day and gave me a 50 pence piece. silly old cow. i was thinking of wearing a badge saying i dont accept less than a fiver! im on £410 at the moment, but ive had most of my usuals so wont be much more.

I started a new walk this year and it had not had a regular postie for some time so i've had to work hard to restore confidence inn the service. There's one particular miserable git whom gave me a lot of hasstle this year but I have remained pleasant to him, so you can imagine I was bowled over when he handed me a fiver the other day!
